I am SO excited to be attending the amazing Zack Arias' OneLight workshop in July. Call me crazy, but rather than choosing a location closer to home like most sane people would do out of convenience...I chose the place located farthest from Florida! I grew up in Florida...I've seen the same palm-tree innundated scenery for the past 29 years of my existance (minus the 4 years I spent living in Boston as a Flight Attendant), so I really REALLY have been wanting to shoot somewhere that brings something different to the table. The July OneLight will be held in Palmer, Alaska...yes, I'm headed to Alaska. It's summer right...can't be too TOO cold? haha...I'm pretty sure anything remotely colder than Florida will most likely kill me, but at least I'll have fun doing it. The thing I'm most excited about is the fact that it stays light for such a long time in Alaska. Zack mentioned on his blog that we'd be shooting a really long day...to about 1 am. I love that...the more I can get out of the workshop the better. Zack's workshop is a means of learning off-camera flash using only 1 light source. This is something that I promised myself I would dive head-first into...I've been wanting for so long to get my flash off of my camera and experiment with something new to give my images something a little different. So, needless to say...I'm really happy to be embarking on this new adventure come July :-) The response from his workshop has been so great...everyone that has attended raves about how knowledgable and warm Zack is! I've always wanted to go to Alaska...now I have an excuse to go :-) Look at this gorgeous scenery!! I can't wait :-)
I can't wait to see your pics from there. I'll be enjoying the 120 degree weather here in July! :)

You're going to have a blast. I went to Alaska on a cruise in the summer of '06. It's beautiful.
